Patrick Watkins is a South Florida native born in Hollywood, Florida. He is a Pop/R&B singer/songwriter/composer.His musical style has been described as a mixture of Justin Timberlake's soulful pop, the crisp eccentric flavor of Bruno Mars, and Chris Brown's infectious lyrics; always delivered with a velvety glaze. melodies that exemplify the spirit of true love and hurt Patrick is no stranger to the limelight, starting his career at the age of 5, acting in commercials produced and filmed in Miami. A few years later Patrick became bewitched by music. “When I was about 8 years old, I wanted my mom to buy me an album by The Fugees, the one with ‘Killing Me Softly. At the time, my mom didn’t feel the lyrics were appropriate for my age, so she bought me Boys II Men’s first album, ‘Cooleyhig Hharmony! Once I listened to it I was hooked! I memorized every word, and I would sing and dance to the music for my mom and anybody else. It was then I realized that music spoke to my heart and made me want to sing even more. After that day, I knew that I wanted to sing and perform for audiences the rest of my life."
Over time, Patrick completely submerged himself in all areas of the "arts." He auditioned and was accepted into performing arts Junior High. He received a full performing arts scholarship to the prestigious private high school American Heritage in Plantation, Florida. There Patrick built the foundation to his singing and acting technique, and thrived as the lead in all musical productions, including plays, voice showcases at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan, dance productions and concerts.
Although Patrick enjoyed his vast opportunities to perform and do what he loved, he longed to be more creative. In an effort to be more original in his work, he started to join local vocal groups where he grew as an artist. While collaborating with his fellow group mates, Patrick learned he had a knack for writing and producing music for himself as well as for others. He even started playing the piano and guitar, and unknowingly gained a better understanding for sound mixing, a skill he works toward perfecting each day. Meanwhile releasing his self produced and independently released first album "subconscious state" which is creating a large buzz in the industry.
After Graduating High School, Patrick continued pursuing his music dreams. He founded a new R&B /Hip Hop group “Eklipz” with some former school mates, and moved to Orlando, FL. There he was signed to Hi-Def Entertainment, a label out of Nashville. This label was also a production company involved in producing movies like “Crash” and “Catch Me If You Can."
The group recorded their album and started touring in the south, (not only in Florida, but in Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee.) Unfortunately, while preparing a European tour and music video, the record label went bankrupt, so the group went their separate ways.
Now riding solo, Patrick recently has appeared in promotional commercials and" indie" films. He continues to deliver powerhouse performances, hell-bent on “bringing the cosmic energy” to his solo debut album and future concerts. “I want to give people the best of me every time I’m out there; I like to make sure the music I’m creating is memorable as well as relatable and catchy. I always strive to give the audience the best performance possible no matter how long my day. I want my fans to leave happy and always wanting more.”
